How to Choose the Right Professional Treatment for Your Skin

August 5, 2026

One of the things I hear most often when a new client comes in for their first appointment or consultation is, "I haven't been very consistent because I honestly have no idea what my skin needs."

And honestly, I get it. Skincare has become complicated. Professional treatment menus are often packed with product names, brand jargon and unfamiliar terminology that can be hard to decode. And even when you do understand what you're looking at, there are facials and peels and devices and serums and boosters and approximately 47 other different ways to spend money on your face. It's really hard to know what you need.

And that's a big part of why I started SkinOS.

I didn't want to create another facial studio or spa where you have to study a treatment menu, memorize a list of add-ons and somehow know which combination will get you where you want to go.

I wanted to create a space where you bring the skin you're living in, tell me what you'd like to address, and then lay back and relax while trusting me to figure out the smartest way to get you there.

We Start With Your Goals

Maybe you're trying to get a handle on breakouts. Maybe it's pigmentation that's become more noticeable, skin that feels dull or dry, rough texture, fine lines or just wanting your skin to look healthier overall.

That's where we start.

If you're new to SkinOS, that happens during the Skin Assessment + Signature Facial: a 75-minute first visit that combines a thorough skin assessment and consultation with a 60 minute, fully customized hands-on treatment. We'll talk through your concerns, current routine and goals, then use what we learn to create a complete written treatment and product plan you can follow from there.

And if you're wondering what all those treatments actually do, here's the quick version.

SkinOS Signature Corrective Facials

This is the heart of SkinOS: fully customized, with nothing generic about it. There's no menu of add-ons to sort through—Signature Corrective Facials are built in the room, based on what your skin needs that day.

No matter how much time you have to spend with us, it starts the same way: a skin-specific cleanse and exfoliation, professional actives suited to your skin, and whatever else your skin calls for that day—extractions if you need them, dermaplaning or microdermabrasion for texture and dullness, LED light therapy or a light superficial peel when your skin can handle a little more. None of it is something you opt into. It's simply what a Signature Facial is built to do, and it always ends the same way: facial, neck and shoulder massage, so you leave as relaxed as your skin looks.

SkinOS 90 is the most indulgent of the three. The extra time means we can take on a wider range of goals in one sitting, without rushing any part of the experience.

SkinOS 60 is where most clients land. It's enough time to prioritize what your skin needs most without asking you to clear your whole afternoon.

SkinOS Express is for when your skin still needs attention but your calendar doesn't have room for a full facial. Focused, efficient and still entirely custom.

The philosophy behind all three is simple: results shouldn't come at the expense of relaxation. You should leave feeling like we moved the mile marker on your skin, and like you just spent an hour being taken care of. Corrective and restorative aren't a trade-off at SkinOS — they happen in the same appointment.

Express Dermaplane Facial

If dermaplaning is really what your skin is after and you don't have time for a 60 or 90 minute service, the Express Dermaplane is its own standalone service — a quick, focused way to get that smooth, polished finish without booking a longer appointment. Perfect before an event or big night out.

Chemical Peels

When we're ready to work more specifically on concerns like pigmentation, breakouts, dullness or texture, or even fine lines, a chemical peel may be the right next step.

I use a range of professional-strength chemical peels formulated with acids like lactic, glycolic, salicylic, mandelic and trichloroacetic (TCA)—because different acids at various concentrations, target different concerns. The best peel for you depends on your skin and what we're trying to accomplish.

BioRePeel is my personal all-time favorite, but that doesn't mean it's automatically the right choice for everyone. That's why a thorough skin evaluation matters. And, as with other more advanced and fully corrective treatments, chemical peels are most effective when performed in a series of four to six, spaced one to two weeks apart.

Procell Microchanneling

Procell Microchanneling is a collagen-induction treatment that uses controlled microchannels to stimulate the skin's wound-healing response. That process triggers a cascade of repair activity, including the remodeling of collagen and other components of the skin's structure.

It's a treatment I may recommend when we're working on concerns such as fine lines, acne scarring, uneven texture or enlarged pores, particularly when we're looking for a more meaningful change in skin texture rather than simply a temporary surface improvement.

Because collagen remodeling takes place over time, Procell is generally approached as a series rather than a one-time treatment. The spacing and number of treatments depend on your skin, your goals and how you're responding along the way.

It's another good example of why I don't think in terms of “What treatment should I book?” I think in terms of what are we trying to change, and what approach gives us the best chance of getting there?

DMK Enzyme Therapy

DMK Enzyme Therapy is not simply another facial or exfoliating treatment. It's part of a full skin revision protocol designed to address how the skin is functioning, not just how it looks on the surface.

The DMK approach is built around four steps: Remove, Rebuild, Protect and Maintain. The in-studio Enzyme Therapy is one piece of that process, using DMK's signature enzyme masque as part of a protocol designed to support exfoliation, circulation and the skin's natural processes.

But the treatment doesn't end when you leave the studio.

DMK is highly prescriptive by design. Your professional treatments are paired with a specific home-care regimen, including prescribed products and instructions for how and when to use them. DMK considers that home program an integral part of the system because it's intended to protect and maintain the changes achieved through professional treatments.

That makes DMK a very different proposition from booking a facial whenever you feel like your skin needs a boost. It's a commitment to a structured plan.

The Treatment Is Only Part of the Plan

No matter the service you book, what you're doing at home matters, too.

You can have a great professional treatment every few weeks, but if your home routine isn't supporting your skin, we're making the job harder than it needs to be.

And no, that doesn't mean you need a bathroom full of products.

When I look at someone's routine, I'm thinking about what your skin needs, what's missing, what's redundant and what's potentially causing more trouble than it's solving.

Sometimes I'll recommend something new.

Sometimes I'll tell you to stop using something.

Sometimes I'll tell you to finish the bottle you already have because there's no reason to replace it.

The goal is a routine that makes sense for your skin and that you can actually stick with.

So, What's Right for You?

That's the part you don't have to figure out. You can come in knowing exactly what you want to address, or simply knowing that your skin isn't where you want it to be.

We'll start there.

Maybe the answer is a Signature Corrective Facial. Maybe it's a series of peels, a Procell treatment or a complete skin revision protocol featuring DMK. Maybe it's a combination of treatments and a few changes at home.

The point isn't to find the most advanced treatment on the menu.

It's to find the right treatment for your skin, your goals and where you are right now.

That's the experience I wanted to create when I opened SkinOS— personalized skincare without the homework—to help you take the guesswork out of great skin.
